  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Education
      • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting required. Minimum of 5-10 years of accounting experience in a multi-entry hospital environment or public accounting. Ability to support 75% of St. Bernards entities.
    • Experience
      • Minimum of two years accounting experience. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, along with Lawson, Meditech, Monarch, Quickbooks, Imaging, Windows and other customer software (Sage, QRS, Greenway, GE Centricity, Allscripts, etc).
    • Physical
      • Normal hospital environment. Extremely close eye work-on computer up to eight hours per day and continuous reading. Hearing within normal range. Finger dexterity, talking, repetitive motion and writing, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Continuous sitting (99% of time), some walking and bending. Filing and storing files. Repetitive motion of the hands, fingers, back, arms and legs. Use of computer - PC, calculator, fax, copier, typewriter, telephone, scanner, printers. Communication skills: Interpersonal, phone, writing procedures and documentation.

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Correctly perform routine accounting procedures in a timely and professional manner. Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Plan and research issues. Balance assigned workload between self and lower level Accountants. Meet assigned deadlines and provide advance warning of problems. Utilized independent judgment and works independently of direct supervision. Assist with development, coaching, and supervision of lower level Accountants and provides performance feedback. Accurately completes and reviews accounting tasks/reports/procedures in a manner that meets professional technical requirements and includes proper documentation. Identifies accounting/operating problems and provides timely solutions and/or suggestions. Manages multiple entity financials without disruption or loss of control and within scheduled deadlines. Work with Corporate Controller to establish sound financial operating policies and procedures and to improve internal controls. Responsible for maintaining and supporting Accounting Systems. Actively participates in the design, development and implementation of financial systems. Other duties assigned by the Corporate Controller or CFO. Requires 12 months of training to ensure understanding of the hospital and corporate organizational structures and financial systems.
