  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Education
      • Bachelor of Science degree required. Emphasis of study or experience in Business is preferred.
    • Experience
      • Must be able to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously. Must possess the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of shipping and receiving preferred. Experience in purchasing or inventory management preferred. Must possess strong knowledge of / or the aptitude to learn business related software application (i.e., Pyxis, Lawson and Meditech).
    • Physical
      • Normal\corrected eyesight. Hearing within normal range. Continuous work with average weight objects (16-25lbs.) and\or frequent pushing\pulling or lifting heavy weight objects (50lbs.+).
  • JOB SUMMARY
      • The Material’s Manager (MM) primary responsibility is the management and supervision of the evaluation, storage, and distribution for all supplies used in the medical center. The MM also has managerial responsibility for the receiving and distribution of supplies ordered by all departments of St. Bernards Medical Center and off campus entities. The MM assists the Assistant Director of Materials Services as required with product and cost reduction initiatives related to group purchasing organizations, aggregation groups, and SBMC committees. The MM must work closely with the purchasing, sterile processing, surgical staff, physicians, department Directors, Managers, and vendors. The MM has oversight responsibility for the maintenance of implant records and bone bank inventory with required documentation. The MM supervises activities of the Stockroom supervisors, ORIC technicians, Receiving Clerk, Supply Techs, Print Shop and Mailroom employees. The MM assists with development and implementation of policies and procedures related to procurement, inventory management, receiving, and distribution. The MM aids in the purchasing of capital equipment for certain areas of the medical center and the review and implementation of service contracts. The MM has the responsibility of assuring compliance with AORN, Joint Commission, and State Health standards. The MM also assists in researching and completing product recalls. The MM is required to utilize independent judgment and must routinely assign and responsibly direct supervisors and/or staff.
