  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Education
      • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree required. Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Arkansas, such licensure granted by the State Board of Pharmacy after passing the required examinations or by reciprocity based in passing such examinations in another state. Board certification or specialty pharmacy certification (e.g., CSP) preferred.
    • Experience
      • Previous experience in retail pharmacy required. Specialty pharmacy experience preferred.
    • Physical
      • This is a safety sensitive position. Please see the St. Bernards Substance Abuse Policy for further information.
      • Normal hospital environment. Close eye work. Hearing of normal and soft tones. Distinguish smells. Distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. Carrying up to 20 pounds. Frequent sitting, standing, bending, stooping, walking and reaching. Long term bending, sitting, standing, computer work and squatting.
  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Specialty Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, clinical programs, and strategic direction of the health system’s retail specialty pharmacy. This role ensures the safe, effective, and compliant dispensing of specialty medications for patients with complex and chronic conditions such as oncology, transplant, HIV, multiple sclerosis, and autoimmune disorders. Working in close coordination with physicians, clinic staff, payers, and internal departments, the Specialty Pharmacy Manager leads a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The manager is accountable for operational performance, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, inventory and financial oversight, and implementation of clinical and quality improvement initiatives. They play a key leadership role in advancing specialty pharmacy services within the health system.

      Maintains effective interdepartmental relations and collaborates with other departments and services to accomplish the medical center’s mission and goals. Supports and cultivates a culture of accountability.
