Minimum Age Requirement:

  • JOB REQUIREMENTS
    • Education
      • Skills and proficiency in oral and written grammar, spelling, punctuation, and basic mathematics as acquired through official completion of high school or its equivalent.
    • Experience
      • Knowledge of job content and requirements as acquired by on-the-job training and knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures as acquired through orientation and preceptorship.
    • Physical
      • Normal hospital environment. Continuous exposure to biological hazards. Frequent exposure to fumes and odors. Close eye work; hearing of normal and soft tones; distinguish smells; distinguish temperatures by touch and proximity. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting up to 50lbs. Carrying up to 40lbs. Pushing/pulling up to 250lbs.

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • Works with and has access to confidential patient information. Position requires making frequent decisions or actions following general procedures often without clearly defined precedents. Position requires a high degree of mental alertness and close visual attention to details. Position requires diplomacy and a professional image and manner in dealing with patients, families, visitors, medical staff and SBMC personnel. Position is responsible for a positive first impression of SBMC personnel. Position includes performance of clerical and non-nursing duties and acts as information coordinator for a nursing unit. Position requires the ability to multitask and prioritize such things as answering the phone, calling consulting providers, answering call lights, attending to patient, visitor, provider and nursing requests. Incumbents are subject to overtime and call back as required by the hospital.
